Treasurer Cindy L. Chitty

Treasurer Cindy L. Chitty is a 1987 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree and has served the citizens of the State of South Carolina since that time. Cindy retired from the South Carolina Department of Revenue as Audit Supervisor with staff serving the local Tri-County area.

Originally from Fairfax, South Carolina, Cindy moved with her family to the area in 1994 with her husband and two children who attended Dorchester District 2 Schools. Cindy has volunteered in our community in many ways including serving as President of the Junior Service League, establishing the Ashley Ridge Athletics Booster Club supporting DD2 schools, and serving as a board member with Dorchester Paws.

Cindy was appointed as Treasurer by Governor Henry McMaster in April of 2017 and continues to hold this position today. Currently, Cindy is President-Elect of the South Carolina Association of Auditors, Treasurers, and Tax Collectors.

When Cindy is not working, she enjoys the beautiful Summerville area running, biking, and spending time with her family.
