It is an honor to serve the taxpayers of Dorchester County. My team and I are committed to improving services to serve you better.

The Treasurer’s Office is responsible for the collection of County funds including current property taxes, vehicle and boat taxes and registration fees, and processing other miscellaneous department revenues.

The Treasurer’s Office maintains county bank accounts, investment of funds and disbursement of tax dollars to the appropriate entities.

We work directly with the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Natural Resources to ensure customers receive their decals upon payment of County taxes.

What We Provide

The Treasurer does not determine property tax amounts. The Assessor's Office determines appraisal values for real property while the Auditor calculates the tax.
